Changing the Rules for School Discipline

Revises the definition of suspension; revises data used to determine school's performance grade category; revises information required to be included in student code of conduct; specifies types of drills and emergencies for which district school boards are required to develop procedures; requires district school boards to establish model emergency management and emergency preparedness procedures. Requires schools to report data concerning school safety and discipline to the department of education. Includes provisions such as ability of teachers to remove disruptive students from the classroom, liability protection for teachers, reporting of safety incidents, etc.
