| Student Suspension and Expulsion and Electronic Communications | |
| Permits a district to expel a student guilty of gross disobedience or misconduct perpetuated by electronic means. Permits a student to be suspended for up to 10 days or to be expelled for up to two years if (1) the student has made an explicit threat on a Web site against a school employee, a student, or any school-related personnel, (2) the Web site was accessible in the school at the time the threat was made or was available to third parties who worked or studied within the school grounds at the time the threat was made, and (3) the threat could be reasonably interpreted as threatening to the safety and security of the student or staff member because of his/her duties or status as a student or staff member in the school. http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/publicacts/97/PDF/097-0340.pdf | |
