| Revocation of Teacher's License | |
| Allows the state teacher standards board to suspend a teacher's license without a hearing and initiate proceedings to permanently revoke the teacher's license when the teacher has been convicted of certain sexual offenses against minors. Requires the department of education to notify the board of the name of any teacher convicted of a sexual offense against a minor. Authorizes a person whose license to teach has been suspended because he/she was convicted of certain sexual offenses against minors to petition the board to reconsider the suspension and pending revocation, including on grounds of reversal of the conviction by a final decision of the appellate court or supreme court. http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/session2008/Bills/SB2080_CD1_.htm | |
