| Code of Conduct/Exceptional Student Violations | |
| Relates to due process hearings for exceptional students; permits school personnel to consider any unique circumstances on a case-by-case basis when determining whether a change in placement is appropriate for a student who has a disability and violates a district school board's code of student conduct; provides for the removal and placement of such a student in an alternative educational setting if they carry a weapon, possess illegal drugs or inflicts injury upon another person at school or a school function; provides that the State Board of Education will comply with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), as amended, and its implementing regulations after evaluating and determining that the IDEA and its regulations are consistent with certain principles. http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sections/Documents/loaddoc.aspx?FileName=_h7089er.xml&DocumentType=Bill&BillNumber=7089&Session=2009 | |
