Tennessee S.B. 1662
Study Commission on Methods of Restraint
Requires the Department of Education's division of special education to collect data on and report to the Chairs of the House and Senate Education Committees the following information: (1) The number of special education classes by local education agency; (2) The number of special education students by local education agency; (3) The number of special education teachers by local education agency; (4) The number of special education aides by local education agency; (5) The number and types of restraints and seclusion utilized over the twelve (12) months following this act's effective date by local education agency; (6) The number of local education agencies that provide training in positive behavioral supports; and (7) The number of local education agencies that provide training in the appropriate use of restraints and seclusion.
