While this was assumed before, the language has been added to harmonize the two provisions. Also, nominating petitions will now require at least 30 voters or one percent of the legal voters in the local district, whichever is less. This process will now be identical to that of the Australian ballot nominating process for local school district directors. The Secretary of State has mailed further information about this new law to each school district clerk.
