Governor Brian Schweitzer's State of the State Address

Governor's plan is called the Best and the Brightest: $1,000 per year scholarships for up to four years to the Best and Brightest from every high school in Montana (180 of these scholarships to attend a Montana college or University). In addition, 40 more Best and Brightest scholarships, $2,000 for four years to attend a Montana college or University; and 500 scholarships that are needs based for our young people to attend our colleges of technology -- those colleges that will rapidly train for the jobs of tomorrow. Medical Technicians, Diesel Mechanics, Heating and Air conditioning specialists. 500 $1,000 per-year-scholarships for up to two years, and 150 scholarships, once again to the Best and Brightest graduates who choose to study at our colleges of technology -- $1,000 a year for two years.

Finance
We need to invest in K-12 today. The legislature is encouraged to put together a funding formula within 90 days.

Health
Use tobacco money to reduce the number of smokers (especially students) in Montana .
