Early Learning
Add more access to early learning.

Early Learning -- Ensuring Quality
Invest in a voluntary five-star rating system for child care facilities.

Kindergarten
Phase-in voluntary all-day kindergarten, focusing on schools with high-poverty levels.

Class Size
Lower K-3 class sizes and reduce class sizes for math and science class to a 25-1 student-teacher ratio.

Mathematics/Science
Recruit 750 new math and science teachers by offering college scholarships, loan forgiveness and seeking individuals in the private sector.

Mathematics/Science
Tie math and science education to international standards and reduce the number of math curriculum options to no more than three in the state.

Performance Management
Create new preformance standards to ensure investment in programs that work and use tax dollars wisely.

Career/Technical Education
Continued investment in Running Start for the Trades program, which provides school-to-work partnerships and mentoring programs to provide specialized skills.

Enrollment
Expand college and university enrollment by 8,300 students, including 3,300 slots in high-demand fields.

Economic/Workforce Development
Expand the University of Washington's Schools of Medicine and Dentistry and the Washington State University's School of Nursing in Spokane to train doctors, dentists and nurses to serve health care needs in more rural areas.

Tuition/Fees
Cap tuition increases at all colleges and universities and freeze tuition at community and technical colleges.
