Governor Charlie Crist's State of the State Address
Early Learning -- Integrated Services
Create a "Children's Cabinet" to coordinate state services and oversee child welfare issues.

Teaching Quality -- Compensation
Spend $300 million to increase teacher pay and provide a 10% raise for the top 25% of teachers.

Reading/Literacy
Approve another $26 million to recruit and employ an additional 400 reading coaches statewide brining the total number to 2,400 and providing one coach for every 20 teachers.

Tutoring/Mentoring
Provide $10 million to fund Pathways to Success, a virtual tutoring program.

Health
Increase the emphasis on physical education in schools.

Finance (Postsecondary)
Increase funding for state universities and community colleges without raising tuition.
