WISigned into law 05/2010P-12Under the Act (Act No. 250), a school district resident may object to the use of a race-based nickname, logo, mascot, or team name by a school board of that school district by filing a complaint with the State Superintendent of Public Instruction. The state superintendent must notify the school board of the receipt of the complaint and of the State Superintendent's determination and schedule a contested case hearing within 45 days after the complaint is filed. Provides for exceptions.
