Civic Provocations - This Bringing Theory to Practice monograph consists of informal essays and provocations that support and deepen inclusive and intentional campus-based consideration of an institution’s own civic mission and the civic mission of higher education today. The monograph is designed to be used as an aid to educators for their own campus conversation—their own “civic seminar.” The monograph features suggestions for how educators could effectively generate a civic seminar, along with guiding questions that could assist those conversations in moving to a deeper level—and, most importantly, lead to institutional actions.
