Men's Increase in College Enrollment Breaks Long-Term Trend--Rises Faster Than Rate for Women - This report provides data that shows that in a historic turnaround, the number of men enrolled in college increased faster than the number of women in SREB states from 2005 to 2010. For 30 years, increases in women college enrollment outnumbered gains for men, but the growth rate for men topped the women's rate in every SREB state except Georgia and Kentucky over the 2005 to 2010 period. College enrollment in the region exceeded 7 million in 2010 about one-third of the national total. (SREB, Jun 2012)...
