Four-Day School Week in Montana Public Schools Report - At the time this report was published, 31 Montana public schools districts and one nonpublic district had moved to a four-day week. Nearly all schools reported an increase in attendance rates and an increase in instructional time. Morale improved and discipline referrals dropped. Academic achievement remained about the same. There was concern for younger students, high-risk students, and students with disabilities because the longer days might be more stressful. Most of the districts that changed were rural.
