Child Welfare: Federal Agencies Can Better Support State Efforts to Prevent and Respond to Sexual Abuse by School Personnel - Ways and means to prevent sexual abuse by school personnel vary widely across the states and from district to district. Among the variables are backround checks, awareness and prevention training and reporting requirements. Recommendations include joint efforts by the U.S. Departments of Education, Justice and Health and Human Services to disseminate information to the states and to identify a way to track abuse prevalence.
