Early Childhood Longitudinal Study - A major federally sponsored research project to determine the impact of early childhood experiences on school performance and other indicators of child development, the project is following two cohorts of children: 22,000 children who entered kindergarten in fall 1998 who will be followed through 5th grade, and 15,000 babies born in 2000 who will be followed through 1st grade.
