Indiana Early Learning Advisory Committee: A Summary Report of the Early Learning Advisory Committee's Work and Recommendations to the Governor and Legislative Council - Indiana is one of the few states in the country with no state-supported preschool. In an effort to address the problem, an Early Learning Advisory Committee was formed in 2013 and this is the committee's first report. Among their findings: 67 percent of Indiana's children require care because their parents work and half of Hoosier families have incomes that make paying for care a significant burden. Even if they could afford it, capacity of high quality care is limited. (Amanda Lopez, Indiana Early Learning Advisory Committee, June 2014) ...
