Document Number: 1171 Dispelling the Myth: High-Poverty Schools Exceeding Expectations - In 1998-99, the Education Trust surveyed 1,200 schools identified by the states as their top-scoring and/or most-improving schools with poverty levels above 50%. The principals of 366 of these schools responded.
