The State of Charter Schools 2000 - This report, the fourth in a series, provides descriptive information on charter schools that were operating in the 1998-99 school year. One of the major findings of the report is that students in charter schools across the nation have similar demographic characteristics to students in all public schools. Charter schools in some states, however, serve significantly higher percentages of minority or economically disadvantaged students.
