Document Number: 2273 Pursuing Excellence: Comparisons of International Eighth-Grade Mathematics and Science Achievement from a U.S. Perspective, 1995 and 1999 - The latest National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) report comparing U.S. 8th graders' math and science achievement with their peers in other countries shows U.S. students continue to perform near the international average in both subjects.
