School Uniforms: Why and How - Elementary schools that require students to wear uniforms report positive effects on classroom discipline, student safety, school spirit and peer pressure, according to a survey of principals conducted by the National Association of Elementary School Principals and Lands' End, Inc. Principals at schools that do require uniforms (the majority of those surveyed) most often said it has not been raised as an issue (30%) and that their current dress code is fine (29%).
