School Poverty and Academic Performance: NAEP Achievement in High-Poverty Schools -- A Special Evaluation Report for the National Assessment of Title I MS Word - This report presents findings from analyses of student achievement on the National Assessment of Educational Progress in the context of school poverty in the United States. This evaluation points to a continuing gap in student achievement between high- and low-poverty schools, but shows that students in high-poverty schools are making progress in math. The report presents analyses of recent national and state NAEP assessment results in reading and math for 4th grade and 9-year-old students in high- and low-poverty schools. (U. S.
