Citizen Schools - Founded in 1995, this Boston organization offers fun, challenging, hands-on "apprenticeships" that unite volunteer "citizen teachers" and small groups of children, ages 9-14. Children come away with a deep understanding of the subject and with practical skills they can use for life. The Citizen Schools program serves 1,200 students a year and is a national model for excellence in education reform and community building. This site provides information on the programs, teaching tools and resources, events, and sponsors and partners. (Citizen Schools)...
