Document Number: 3569 Urban School Superintendents: Characteristics, Tenure and Salary - This third biennial report from the Council of the Great City Schools (CGCS) contains results of a survey on urban superintendents; 1997 and 1999 survey results also are provided as comparisons. The data indicate that the average tenure of a major city school district is now 2 1/2 years, up from 2 1/3 years in 1999.
