Illinois After-School Initiative: Interim Progress Report - The Illinois After-School Alliance, established in August 2000, aims to ensure quality after-school programs are available for all of Illinois’ children and youth. To begin to address these issues, a legislative resolution directed the Alliance to perform a comprehensive assessment of after-school services in Illinois and to develop a strategic plan for ensuring every child has access to a quality after-school program. Partners in the strategic planning process should include the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). This document serves as the Interim Report of the Alliance; the final study and report will be completed in October 2002. (IDHS, ISBE, 2001)...
