Document Number: 4387 National Geographic – Roper 2002 Global Geographic Literacy Survey - The survey assessed the geographic knowledge exhibited by 18- to 24-year-olds in nine countries, as well as 25- to 34-year-olds in the United States. The survey found that, in comparison to young adults in some European countries, who on average answered about 70% of the questions correctly, American young adults provided correct answers for less than half the questions.
