Involving Community Members in Decisionmaking: Connecticut MS Word - Test scores showed great improvement at the Katherine Brennan School in New Haven, Connecticut, after the addition of a preschool program, a medical suite and a social services arm – the latter two right in the school building. Community participation in decisionmaking has proved key to the progress this school has made. The School Planning and Management Team – consisting of parents, community residents, faculty and school staffers – helps make critical decisions about what's needed at the school and in the neighborhood.
