Accountability in Small Schools: One Learner at a Time MS Word - Small schools typically approach accountability in fundamentally different ways than traditional schools. According to the authors, society cannot afford to build sophisticated student-performance information systems to support separate accountability systems. There is a need to look for ways to use school-based, student-centered accountability systems to satisfy the state's accountability needs. An example of how such a system might work is provided.
