Special Education: Federal Actions Can Assist States in Improving Postsecondary Outcomes for Youth - The purpose of this report is to provide information on (1) the proportion of special education students completing high school and their postsecondary status, (2) the transition problems between secondary and postsecondary education, and (3) the types of transition services provided and the factors affecting participation. Recommendations include gathering and providing states with information on strategies to collect and use postsecondary data, and coordinating with other federal agencies to provide students and their families with information on federally funded transition services.
