Maturing Investments: Philanthropy and Middle Grades Reform - The authors examine the background, goals, structure and outcomes of four now-concluded major middle grades reform projects funded by the Lilly, Carnegie, Clark and Kellogg foundations, as well as smaller middle grades initiatives funded by a wide spectrum of philanthropies. Kronley and Handley draw nine findings from the experiences of these funders, and propose future middle grades reform projects that could build upon the progress made through these trailblazing programs.
