The Education for Homeless Children and Youth Program: Learning To Succeed Volume II: Educating Homeless Children and Youth: A Resource Guide to Promising Practices - Beginning with a brief overview of the provisions of the McKinney-Vento Act, the authors indicate the promising practices in place in Illinois, Oregon, Texas and six districts nationwide to confront the challenges faced by state homeless education coordinators and others in serving homeless children and youth. The appendices include a directory of a sampling of state agencies and national advocacy organizations for the homeless, a list of recent publications on homeless education, and a brief Q&A on serving homeless special education students.
