High School Guidance Counseling - The first national data since 1984 on high school guidance programs, this survey examines the self-reported goals of such programs, the prevalence of guidance counseling plans and standards, the perceived effects of block scheduling and other features on schools' capacity to provide guidance services and availability and student participation rates in various types of guidance activities. The survey also reports characteristics of guidance counselors such as certification levels, time spent on various activities and professional development activities.
