Document Number: 4978 Secondary Transition Coordinators at the State Level - This Quick Turn Around summarizes information from 41 states on the roles and responsibilities of state-level personnel who address issues related to secondary transition for students with disabilities. The author found that 31 of the secondary transition coordinators are state education agency employees and the other 10 states reported a variety of other employment arrangements. In all 41 states, the secondary transition coordinators provide technical assistance to local education agencies, schools, parents and students, and work with adult service providers. (Terry L. Jackson, Quick Turn Around, National Association of State Directors of Special Education, December 2003)...
