Document Number: 5009 Urban School Superintendents: Characteristics, Tenure and Salary - This report contains results of a survey on urban superintendents, and 1997, 1999 and 2001 survey results also are provided as comparisons. The data indicate the average tenure of a major city school district is now 2 and 3/4 years, up from 2 and 1/2 years in 2001.
