High-Quality High Schools: Preparing All Students for Success in Postsecondary Education, Careers and Citizenship - This report by Ohio’s state task force on high schools addresses the three areas the state board asked the task force to study: (1) transforming the high school experience to make programs more effective for students and allow them to meet the state academic standards; (2) developing a P-16 system in the state; and (3) integrating education and workforce development. The result: four specific recommendations, as well as suggested initiatives to help the state implement each of the recommendations. The report concludes with a strategy for getting started — developing a funding plan, challenging curriculum models and the knowledge base to get the job done. An executive summary of the report is also available. (Ohio State Board of Education’s Task Force on Quality High Schools for a Lifetime of Opportunities, October 11, 2004)...
