Document Number: 5790 Differences in the Gender Gap: Comparisons Across Racial/Ethnic Groups in Education and Work - This report finds that children start kindergarten with different levels of reading and math skills, often related to gender, race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and age. Gaps in achievment, using National Assessment of Educational Progress data, show that females in all racial/ethnic groups scored higher, on average, than males in reading, writing and civics.
