Document Number: 5884 Distance Education Courses for Public Elementary and Secondary School Students: 2002-03 - This report provides the first-ever national data on certain aspects of distance education at the elementary and secondary levels. Statistics are provided on enrollments in distance education courses in schools and districts, the instructional level and subject areas courses address, the advanced placement or college-level courses offered through distance education, technologies – online and otherwise – used to deliver distance instruction, the entities providing courses, reasons for having distance education courses and the future direction of such instruction.
