The Center for Adult English Language Acquisition - Launched in January 2005, the center aims to assist states with emerging populations who are learning English as a second language (ESL). Center staff will work with state representatives so that they will have the capacity to promote the English language learning and academic achievement of adults learning English. The center’s Web site provides resources and digests on a wide variety of topics related to teaching and learning adult ESL, including workplace and vocational ESL, civics/citizenship education, specific populations and family and intergenerational ESL literacy....
