National Association for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth - This organization, initially established in 1989 as the National Association of State Coordinators for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth, was created to ensure children and youth residing in temporary living situations received equitable and excellent services through the public schools across the country. The Web site offers FAQs on the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act and the education rights of children and youth in homeless situations; a directory of state homeless education coordinators; informational materials on homeless education issues; a listserv; links to federal legislation and departmental guidance; other Web sites; and information about the LeTendre Education Fund for Homeless Children, which provides scholarship assistance to students age 20 and under who are homeless or have experienced homelessness....
