Document Number: 6674 Part-Time Faculty and Teaching/Research Assistants Now Outnumber Full-Time Faculty at Public Colleges and Universities - One of the ways public colleges and universities are adjusting to changing financial circumstances is by hiring more part-time faculty and teaching/research assistants than full-time faculty. This bulletin from the Southern Regional Education Board gives data for use of part-time faculty and teaching/research assistants in SREB states at both two- and four-year public colleges and universities. The table on page 2 breaks out the data – from the 1993-94 school year as compared with 2003-04 – by state as well as by part-time faculty or teaching/research assistants. (Southern Regional Education Board, December 2005)...Related Issues Postsecondary Faculty |
