The Georgia Partnership for Reform in Science and Mathematics (PRISM) - PRISM is an initiative of the University System of Georgia designed to increase science and mathematics achievement for all P-12 students in order to improve their readiness for postsecondary education and careers by enhancing teacher quality, raising expectations for all stakeholders and closing achievement gaps. Awarded to the University System of Georgia in 2003, the initiative is funded by a five-year, $34.6 million grant from the National Science Foundation and is scheduled to be funded through the 2008 school year. PRISM is working actively in four diverse regions – Atlanta metropolitan, Northeast Georgia, East Central Georgia and Southeast Georgia – of the state with partners at the university and P-12 level in each region....
