Document Number: 7276 Washington State Tuition and Fee Report - Washington higher education officials conduct an annual survey of tuition and fee rates of all 50 states to determine how Washington compares nationally and with other western states. In addition, staff examine how tuition and fees and individual Washington institutions compare and contrast with institutions nationwide. The 2005-06 analysis found that state resident undergraduates pay less than national average for four-year institutions, as do community college students. Differences between Washington and “average” tuition and fee rates are significantly below their peer institutions, however. (Washington Higher Education Coordinating Board, February 2006)
