Document Number: 7369 Maryland Plan for Technology in Education: 2002-2005 - In 1995, the state began implementation of the Maryland Plan for Technology in Education. The plan, developed by the Committee on Technology in Education (COTE), was revised for 2002-2005 and included five objectives for achieving the primary goal, with accompanying rationales, progress to date, targets for 2005 and recommended actions for each. The objectives include: (1) access to high performance technology will be universal; (2) all educators will be capable of effectively using technology tools and digital content; (3) technology tools and digital content will be seamlessly integrated into all classrooms on a regular basis; (4) technology will be used effectively to improve school administrative functions and operational processes; and (5) effective research, assessment, and evaluation will result in accountability and continuous improvement in the implementation and use of technology.
