Teens and Sexting: How and Why Minor Teens are Sending Sexually Suggestive Nude or Nearly Nude Images Via Text Messaging - In a survey of 800 youth ages 12-17 conducted in the summer of 2009, the Pew Center found that 75% of all teens those ages own a cell phone and 66% use text messaging. Some law enforcement officers and district attorneys have begun prosecuting teens who create and share sexual images under laws generally reserved for producers and distributors of child pornography.
