Document Number: 8453 Fueling the Race to Postsecondary Success: A 48-Institution Study of Prior Learning Assessment and Adult Student Outcomes - The Council for Adult and Experiential Learning completed a research study on the academic outcomes of students who earn credit for prior learning. Data was collected from 62,475 students at 48 higher education institutions offering prior learning assessment. The report presents the findings on the comparison of prior learning assessment students with other students in terms of earned degrees, persistence and time to degree. Such a large-scale look at prior learning assessment credit earning and academic outcomes has never before been done.
