Department of Education: Improved Oversight and Controls Could Help Education Better Respond to Evolving Priorities - As a result of this review, the GAO recommends that the Department of Education take steps to better estimate workloads, strengthen safeguards over its performance management system; properly implement established contract monitoring guidelines; and improve its management controls over information technology resources.
