The Nation's Report Card: U.S. History 2010 - In comparison to the last assessment in 2006, average scores in 2010 were higher at grade 8 and not significantly different at grades 4 and 12. At grade 4, the lowest performing students made the greatest gains from 1994 to 2010. Gains for Black students from 1994 to 2010 contributed to a narrowing of the achievement gaps at grades 4 and 8 while gains for Hispanic students were evident at grade 4.
