Document Number: 9601 Multiple Purposes for Measuring Quality in Early Childhood Settings: Implications for Collecting and Communicating Information on Quality - This brief emphasizes the need to articulate the purpose of assessment and to make decisions accordingly. Even though experts caution against using the same quality measure for multiple purposes, this brief recognizes that many states and communities may have to do just that due to limited resources.
