Preschool Program Improves Cognitive Control - This experimental study shows that a pre-k curriculum called Tools of the Mind was effective in helping children develop executive function skills, which have been found to have strong associations with school readiness and later academic achievement. The study also demonstrates that play, which is a central part of the curriculum, can be an effective strategy for cognitive development in the early years. (Adele Diamond, W.
