Document Number: 9802 Developing Early Literacy: Report of the National Early Literacy Panel - This report identifies critical early literacy skills that predict later literacy outcomes and the programs or interventions that are most effective at helping children developing them. The authors reviewed research and identified 6 early literacy skills (as well as a second tier of skills) critical during early development and also include a guide for practitioners to translate the research into action. The National Institute for Early Education Research and other early literacy experts provided additional commentary on this report.
