Document Number: 9833On the Cusp in California - Based on examples of pre-k-to-3rd alignment efforts in California, this report calls for the development of longitudinal data systems that would allow teachers from pre-k through third grade to collect data about how children progress through the years and use it to inform quality improvement efforts. Additionally, the author urges the establishment of a pre-k-to-3rd credential that recognizes the unique needs of children at this stage of development and provides teachers with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet those needs.
